US City Word Searches

City pages, titled the way people say them: Dallas, Texas. Chicago, Illinois. Detroit, Michigan. What goes into the word list comes from the city rather than from the state around it — neighbourhoods, sports teams, universities, the river it grew up on and the buildings a resident would name first.

Thirty are collected here and they run alphabetically, Abilene through Detroit, so the early letters are well covered and the later ones are still in the Geography topic waiting their turn. Texas accounts for eight of the thirty on its own. One entry is not American at all — Bali, Indonesia — which shares the shape but not the country.

The sizes vary more than the state pages do: Baltimore is a 12×12 with twelve words, Cedar Rapids a 28×28 with twenty-five. Most are hard-tier, hiding words in all eight directions. Five are medium — Athens, Baltimore, Billings, Chesapeake and Cincinnati — and those are the gentler way in if a 26×26 grid of Chicago streets is more than you want today.
