Free Printable Word Searches

Every puzzle on this site is printable, and printing one takes two clicks. There is no PDF to download, no email address to hand over and no account to create: open a puzzle, use the print card under the grid, and the page lays itself out for paper — title, full grid, full word list, and nothing else. Navigation, adverts and artwork are all dropped from the sheet.

Every puzzle in the library also has its own answer key, linked under the grid and printable as a second sheet, so a teacher or an activity director can hand out the puzzle and keep the solutions. Keys print in grey rather than colour, which survives a black-and-white printer.

Sheets are laid out for US Letter and A4 portrait. Grids up to 20 columns print at a full 0.3-inch cell — large, plain letters — and wider grids scale down gently rather than wrapping onto a second page. Everything below is free to print as many times as you like, at home, in a classroom or in a care home.

How printing works

Nothing is downloaded and nothing is generated on a server: the print layout is a stylesheet the page already carries, which is why there is no waiting and nothing to install.

  1. Open any puzzle from the list above.
  2. Scroll past the grid to the “Print this puzzle” card and choose “Print puzzle only” or “Print puzzle with answer key”.
  3. The answer key also has a page of its own, linked from that same card, if you would rather print or check it separately.
