Third Grade Word Searches

Twelve words on a board twelve wide. The list grows rather than the grid, and a page that used to hold eight things to find now holds half again as many — which is roughly where a word search stops being an exercise and starts being a pastime you would choose.

The order on this page is what other people finish. Cards rank by how many solvers have completed them, so whatever sits nearest the top has been seen through to the end most often. That is a rougher guide than list length, but a better one once everything on the page is comfortably within reach anyway.

What really separates these from the shorter sets is vocabulary rather than any change in the hiding. The lists carry several-syllable words out of science, history, geography and the human body, and finding one means recognising it on sight instead of spelling it out. Nothing here reads in reverse, so the recognising is all it asks.
