Tucson is a city in and the county seat of Pima County, Arizona, United States, and is home to the University of Arizona. Famous for its dramatic beauty, the Sonoran Desert covers this region with spectacular cacti – including the giant saguaro, a symbol of the American Southwest. But don’t be fooled by the term “desert” because mountain ranges in all directions offer scenic drives, and even snow skiing. In the winter you can go for a hike in the valley, then drive up to Mt. Lemmon and enjoy the slopes. The Spanish name of the city, Tucson, is derived from the O'odham Cuk Ṣon, meaning "at the base of the black hill", a reference to a basalt-covered hill now known as Sentinel Peak. Tucson is sometimes referred to as "The Old Pueblo". How well do you know about the city of Tucson? Find the names of the famous places and more interesting things about this city in this puzzle.
